I am a licensed professional counselor specializing in work with adolescents, adults, individuals and families. Some of the most common concerns of my clients include depression, anxiety, loss, divorce, trauma, transition issues, coming out and parenting challenges. I also have extensive experience in working with adolescents and their families who are in crisis and need a safe environment to find resolution.
I use a variety of treatment strategies in my work including psychodynamic therapy, family systems therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness based cognitive therapy.
My emphasis is on helping clients change destructive behavior and thinking patterns that prevent them from building and maintaining positive and lasting relationships with people that are important to them. Achieving change is a process, and the core of good therapy is based on the counselor building a relationship of trust, empathy and respect with the client.
