As a psychotherapist, I am guided by the belief that each of us is on a journey toward wholeness and completion. I believe that our life experiences, no matter how painful or confusing, can ultimately serve to teach us, lead us, and strengthen us.

These experiences can provide opportunities for growth and healing – in often new and unexpected ways. It is my privilege to help clients sort through life challenges, find the gift(s) that each contains, and examine what they mean in the context of their lives. I strive to do this in a nurturing and collaborative therapeutic relationship.

Because of my interest in finding the meaning in life experiences, I especially enjoy working with those who are dealing with life transitions and change. These transitions may occur in the form of illness/disability, significant loss, coming out, trauma, career change, aging, new relationships, recovery, and spiritual crises. I also have a strong interest and extensive experience in working with couples whose relationships are in a period of difficulty and/or transition.

I am a licensed psychologist and received my doctorate in counseling psychology from Georgia State University in 1997. I have worked in a wide variety of settings, including hospitals, universities, community agencies and independent practice.
